Chinese Language

Chinese is the language having the most number of native speakers, with more than one-fifth of the world’s population speaking it. Although there are numerous dialects of Chinese, the most important amongst them is Putonghua or Mandarin, which is based on the Beijing dialect. In addition to mainland China (People’s Republic of China), where an overwhelming percentage of Chinese language speakers reside, it is also spoken in Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia and numerous “China Towns” scattered across the world.

People’s Republic of China with a growth rate of more than 10% per annum has recently become the second largest economy in the world. It is the world’s largest exporter with annual exports worth $1.5 Trillion in 2010 and is also one of the largest trading partners of India.
